Students Complete RI Maths Masterclasses
Royal Institution Lecture Series concludes with the Maths of Juggling
The annual series of Royal Institution lectures and workshops for talented young mathematicians concluded on Saturday with an exploration into the mathematics behind performing and designing juggling tricks by mathematician (and juggler) Colin Wright. Six Year 9 students from The Beaconsfield School attended the series of Saturday morning workshops exploring a range of topics, from building bridges from paper to Phi the ‘golden ratio’.
Organised and hosted by Wycombe High School, the annual masterclasses allow Gifted and Talented Year 9 students to gain an insight of how mathematics is applied outside of the classroom and also to catch a glimpse of some higher order mathematical techniques and ideas.
Congratulations to the six students who successfully graduated from the course.
