Some of the Year 12 Business class were lucky enough to take part in a Dragon's Den competition at Bucks New University, last week. Their brief was to devise a pitch for a new soft drink, and both Beaconsfield School teams came up with excellent proposals. There were four schools represented at the event, and one of the Beaconsfield School teams – Megan V, Lorna J, Cat T, Joe W and Amabel F -won the event – with their new product – 'Ready Steady Tea'.

Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students in Year 9 had their awards evening last Thursday. To finish off their Duke of Edinburgh all of the students have to give a presentation to an audience. The presentations are about their journey throughout the year, the aim of their group and also about what went well and what they could improve. Following on from this students received their final certificates and badges for passing their Bronze level award. The evening was a true success and students got to tuck into a celebration cake with their picture on it at the end. Thanks to all staff, parents and students for supporting this scheme this year. Congratulations to all of those students that passed and I hope that some of them progress onto the Silver award in Year 10.

Parents

Seeing the class teacher on the school gate and checking your child’s book bag for communications may not take place in secondary school but communication is none the less important. We welcome parents raising their concerns early so we can find solutions quickly before matters escalate.
